My poor children. I love to make things, but just like cobblers’ children, mine really don’t have any handknit items. I take that back. They each have a zoomy hat from last year.
But apart from KR1 and his longies, and this zoomy sweater, they have not been on the receiving end of my crafts.
So I have set a few goals for this winter, and one of them includes to knit more items for my own children. KJ9, especially loves to be crafty and is such a creative soul. So seeing that a) I have never made socks thanks to my phobia of small gauge DPNs and b) KJ9 NEEDS some socks, I decided to get my A into G and just knit a pair for her.
It’s been rough going. I started this sock before either pair of Evangeline gloves were on my needles. It’s amazing how much a pattern can make or break a project. This pattern was a free one off Ravelry, and although very easy, I don’t like the look at all.
However, KJ9 is pretty stoked with it, so I guess I need to get over it. Hopefully, my Ashford pattern will be better, and this cobbler’s children will have warm feet for the winter. But now I need to get over my second-sock-itis. ugh
